Welcome to the often imitated, rarely duplicated Underground Poet’s Society, Inc. (The Un.P.S.)! Where poetry is not just a hobby… it’s our business!
The Underground Poet’s Society, Inc. was created by Founder, Antwian M. Crawford, also known as Intellect, on July 21, 2000. It has since been at the top of the Internet poetry scene since its creation. Coming at a time when African-American Poetry was very scarce on the Internet at least. The Un.P.S. helped pioneer the modern day Internet poetry movement and took it to new heights. Now, several years later, the poetry of our people is flourishing with The Un.P.S. still leading the way into the future of Poetry and Spoken Word. Today, there are many, possibly hundreds of poetry sites on the world wide web but there is still... only one Underground Poet's Society.
On our web site, we feature poets in all genres of poetry from novice level to professional. Everything from the written word to the spoken word can be found here. This is also the home of The Annual Underground Poet's Society, Inc. Poetry Conference! This conference features many workshops directed by some of the world's elite poets and performers and also features an open mic and a poetry show from some of the greatest spoken word artists of our time.
